In this review I am going to remain completely unbiased. I will go through with a tooth pick the fine details on the book and look at it from all angles. This I hope to ensure will give you a great basis on which judge upon whether the Paleo recipe book is for you!
Whats do you get in the package?
In actual fact you get a set of 4 books the Paleo Recipe Book, the Paleo Meal Plan a bonus herbs and spices guide as well as a bonus dessert guide. It makes sense to go over each of these four books separately.
Paleo Recipe Book Review
When I turned Paleo I found it quite difficult to think of what to eat that was tasty and gave me the macronutrients I needed. Meals soon got boring with the recurring meats and vegetables. I can say for variety this book has helped me out heaps and bounds. The Paleo Recipe book contains over 370 recipes.
This certainly provides plenty of variety, which helped making eating enjoyable and not only for function.
The dishes are then broken down into their constituents, here are a mere few examples: red meat, pork, poultry, stew and curries, fish, salads, shellfish and seafood, eggs and omelets, stir fries, vegetables and sides, snacks, soups and snacks, marinades and sauces, offals, breakfasts and desserts, dips and finally lacto-fermented vegetables.
Each recipe has it’s own page devoted to it, with clear illustrations of what the final product looks like as well as an easy to follow ingredient and instruction list. The Paleo Recipe Book also is great a building up your appetite, with the clear mouthwatering images.

Paleo Meal Plan
One thing many people struggle with when on a diet is knowing when to eat. Meal planning is a vital step in getting the most out of the food you are fueling yourself with. Each day has a breakdown of what foods you should be eating making planning shopping and meal preparation much easier.
The plan also tells you the calorie count of each meal so you can ensure you getting the right amount of calories to suit your metabolic rate.

Herbs and Spices and Dessert Review
The final two books just go into the finer detail giving you information why certains foods are in the book and others are not. Many herbs as you may be aware of have many medicinal histories all of which are explained in this book.
If you are like me and have any kind of sweet tooth then you will envy friends eating a sweet treat. However they will certainly envy your health and looks it is nice to get a treat every now and then. The Paleo Recipe Book Dessert is fantastic and gives you 15 snack recipes. All of which are prepared from the very best primal ingredients.
What have I experienced since getting the Paleo Recipe Book?
Since using the recipes in the book I’ve had much more enjoyable tasty meals. As I said earlier I previously struggled with making meals interesting but this book solved them all.
I went Paleo as part of my ‘cut’ the aim being to lose weight while keeping muscle mass and getting aerobically fitter. The Paleo diet certainly enabled me to do that. Many people struggle with energy when they diet to lose weight however I felt more awake than the duracel bunny!
This may sound strange but I feel healthier, the Paleo diet definitely gives your body a cleaner feel. Your mentality is such a huge part of life so I do think this is important.
Problems with the Paleo Recipe Book?
I have thus praised the book however I did come across two minor problems that it’s worth raising people awareness to:
- Time – Some recipes where tasty but just took far to much preparation and time to cook. I have a very busy lifestyle and I just can’t commit to cooking all the time so this is where a few recipes are a let down.
- The book could use more appetising pictures!

- There are over 350 recipes making variation a dream. All the recipes are very tasty and contain everything you need to fuel your primal body.
- There are 3 bonus books that are very informative and usful and give you an understanding behind why herbs are used for all sorts of reasons.
- The book is very versatile, it works for people who are trying to gain lots of muscle and those who are trying to lose weight. Regardless of your background this book will suit you.

I think the book is well worth the purchase price of $27, you get a ton of information and structures your eating habits something I think is very very important, it therefore gets my thumbs up!
